Sold Out! West Virginia University and Mylan Park

March 23: Leaves at 7:15am and returns at 3:00pm

Attendees will travel to West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. WVU is a public land-grant research university of over 25,000 students. Participants will tour the Campus Recreation Student Recreation Center boasting 17,000 square feet of weight and fitness equipment, a 50-foot climbing wall, two swimming pools, and seven gym courts. While on campus, participants will also tour WVU athletic facilities. Depending upon in-season sports, this may include the football stadium, locker room space featured in Athletic Business, The Basketball Practice Facility Hall of Traditions, and The Athletics Performance Center, which is a converted natatorium creating home for Olympic Sport training.

This tour will also include visiting Mylan Park which is owned and operated by the non-profit 501c3 Mylan Park Foundation. Initially consisting of four baseball and softball fields, Mylan Park has grown over the past 20 years into a full-service sports, recreation, wellness, and events complex spanning across 400 acres. The main stop will be the Mylan Park Aquatic Center a state-of-the-art fully accessible 90,000-square-foot facility featuring a 50-meter Olympic pool and diving well. Come check out all the amazing features that are found at the Aquatic Center like the outdoor splash pad, fitness room, multi-purpose rooms, community pool with zero-depth entry, and much more!

Carnegie Mellon University

March 23: Leaves at 12:00pm and returns at 3:00pm

Attendees will travel to Carnegie Mellon University, a private, global research university of over 15,000 students. CMU is a NCAA Division III member of the University Athletics Association (UAA). Athletics, physical education, and recreation are under the Division of Student Affairs (DOSA) and essential to the campus community. Interested participants will tour the Jared L. Cohon University Center, including the 62,000-square-foot expansion that opened in 2016, and the Tepper Fitness Center, a 7,200-square-foot fitness center. Attendees can view and participate if interested in the Spivi Indoor Cycling Studio which includes an innovative 3D simulator system with leaderboard, performance views, and 3D interactive scenery.

Sara Gauntner, Associate Director of Athletics, and Pattye Stragar, Fitness Operations Manager, will also share lessons learned from recent renovation and expansion projects as well as planning for the new Highmark Center for Health, Wellness and Athletics facility slated for opening Fall 2024.

Sold Out! Acrisure Stadium and PNC Park

March 23: Leaves at 9:30am and returns at 3:00pm

Attendees will travel to the Pittsburgh Pirates PNC Park to tour Ballpark Digest’s #1 rated MLB ballpark where they can discover the unique architecture of PNC Park, the history of Pittsburgh baseball, and will be able to view the city’s picturesque skyline from the 38,000-seat facility. That’s not all! Attendees will also tour Acrisure Stadium, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Panthers. Here, attendees will be able to visit the FedEx Great Hall, PNC Champions Club, the home team locker room, and view the football field while learning more about the history of football in Pennsylvania.

Relax at Southern Tier Brewery where a buffet style lunch will be provided.
